Driveway Ideas
We Understand Driveways, We probably pour more driveways than anyone else in the city and have been doing so for over 25 years. We keep up with industry trends in order to help our clients choose the best finish for their needs and budget.
Here is a summary of our most popular finishes, as well as a brief description of what makes each one unique. For various driveway projects, the driveway technique is also explained in greater detail in our projects section. All of our projects, from start to finish, are listed here.
Concrete Demolition

We get a lot of calls about removing an old driveway. We have everything we need to demolish and remove concrete driveways, transport them to a recycling centre, and recycle it to be used as a base for new concrete work. Instead of hiring a separate concrete demolition contractor, you can save money and time by having us do everything.
Prepping the Driveway

Our driveways are constructed entirely of high-quality materials because we want them to last a long time. We begin by establishing a four-inch thick layer of gravel. Your driveway will remain structurally sound even if a crack occurs, as we never use mesh only rebar. We also only use high-quality air entrained concrete mixtures in our services. We recommend sealing your driveway with one of our driveway sealers to strengthen it.
Broom Finish Driveways

A broom finish driveway is the most common type of driveway we pour. Before the final set, a horsehair brush is used to achieve this finish. During our cold months, the broom finish concrete driveway is especially slip resistant. If necessary, an integrated colour can be used. Saw cutting for a broom finish driveway is becoming more popular in addition to hand cuts for a broom finish driveway.

Modern Driveway Styles
A smooth surface with well spaced saw cuts is a modern concrete driveway. A modern west coast style driveway might also include gaps between the slabs to allow grass to grow, or it might have stones or even artificial grass. The Finish can be an acid wash, a light sandblast, or a light wash, the driveway finish can be softly textured. Please see our driveways section for additional information on modern style driveways.
Float Finish Driveways

The rough texture of the float finish concrete driveway makes it a safe yet decorative concrete finish. The float finish is a random finish that is ideal for those looking for a more casual and less linear appearance than a broom finish driveway. Float finish driveways are comparable to broom finish driveways in price and are frequently saw cut rather than hand cut to incorporate additional decorative elements; borders can also be saw cut in.
Float Finish with A Border
The cost of the float finish concrete driveway with borders is somewhat more than that of a standard float finish driveway. Borders can be any of the finishes listed above or below and can be coloured if desired. Depending on the size and design, borders might be monolithic or poured separately.

Stamped Concrete Driveways
Concrete Driveways with Stamped Concrete provide a variety of design and colour possibilities. Stamped concrete mimics the appearance of stone, slate, and wood. There are numerous colours available to produce high-quality and realistic effects. We customise each stamped concrete driveway to your specifications. When finished, stamped concrete is sealed to protect it from the weather and to enhance its beauty. In the winter, care should be used to maintain these driveways clear of salt and ice; they are the most costly form of driveway and should be protected.

Exposed Aggregate Driveways
Exposed aggregate is a common option for decorative concrete driveways in urban areas. Sealing the exposed aggregate driveway creates an appealing surface while also protecting it from the wet and cold winter weather. Even if the slab has been exposed before, winter upkeep is essential. Driveways made of exposed aggregate concrete may be tinted to compliment or contrast with the house’s colour scheme.

Light Sandblast Driveways

The Light Sandblast Concrete Driveway is created by slightly sandblasting or washing the surface. When sandblasting is not a possibility, we may alternatively power wash the driveway to create the appearance of a mild sandblast. For mild washes, we offer depth-controlled concrete surface retarders. This driveway has a shallow retardation depth, revealing just the sand in the concrete matrix; no aggregate is visible in this concrete finish.

Acid Stain Finishes
The Acid Stain Concrete Driveway has a genuinely one-of-a-kind appearance. After the concrete driveway has set for around 30 days, acid stain is sprayed on the surface. Acid-staining driveways should be clear of spills and other stains; oil stains, for example, can degrade the quality of subsequent acid staining. Each time, acid stains react with the concrete to produce a one-of-a-kind masterpiece. Acid-stained concrete driveways have a warm earthy colour and are frequently sealed with a high gloss sealant.
Wave Broom Finish Concrete
The wave broom driveway finish is similar to a conventional broom finish, with the exception that the broom is dragged up and down on each pass, resulting in a wave pattern on the driveway. There are numerous advantages to having a concrete driveway with a traditional broom finish, and this driveway is no exception. A popular design in the past, the wave finish is now considered to be a classic style.

Decorative Driveway Combinations
With concrete driveways, all of the above are available in nearly any combination and design. The driveway’s design is just as important as its finish. The objective is to achieve a perfect union between the two styles of concrete finish. Patterns and finishes are only limited by your imagination, as are colour combinations. Each decorated concrete driveway we construct is customised to the needs of the client.

Exposed Aggregate with Borders

For many years, concrete driveways with exposed aggregate have been popular in a wide range of homes. Borders for exposed can be any of the finishes above or below, as well as natural stone or brick mortared borders; we create a sunken rough slab border for those mortared options. A driveway with exposed aggregate and a border is one of the more expensive options. Spray paint is commonly used because it provides a clear visual representation of border design options prior to their formation.
Stamped Concrete and Borders

The most expensive of the many types of concrete driveways is a stamped concrete driveway with borders. When these two items are combined, there are numerous possibilities and combinations. Integral or topical colour hardeners can be used. We have up to eight different colours to choose from, allowing you to create very realistic natural rock and stone effects. Depending on the finish, borders are poured either before or after the main body.
Concrete Sealing
The most common type of poured concrete damage is to driveways. Keep your driveway free of salt and other ice melt materials to avoid harm. Please don’t spill any corrosive chemicals or oil on your new driveway, as most stains will be difficult or impossible to remove. Regularly sealing your driveway will help to protect it and keep it looking good for many years. All of our clients have access to our maintenance services, which help to ensure the long-term viability of their new driveway investment.
